It will take patience to find a ticket for Squeezie’s GP Explorer 2, which will take place on September 9 at the mythical Bugatti circuit -where the 24 hours of Le Mans are held in June-.
When the ticket office opened on May 23, the approximately 60,000 seats for this Formula 4 race, featuring big names on YouTube and Twitch, sold out within minutes. The initial sale price was 48 euros, but it didn’t take long for some to resell the gold-priced tickets online.
To protect buyers from this practice, the Leboncoin buying and reselling platform has gone ahead by now systematically removing all advertisements related to the event. The platform announced it in a tweet on May 30, seen by the specialized site Numerama.
This policy is also part of the terms of use of the site: the resale of dematerialized tickets is prohibited, as specified in the tweet.
Since the tickets went on sale, resales at excessive prices, reaching triple or quadruple the base price, have not been long in coming. So much so that Squeezie himself spoke on this issue, to once again indicate that the seats were nominative anyway and that an official platform would be set up in June for those who wish to resell their tickets.
Last year, the first edition of GP Explorer gathered more than a million viewers simultaneously on one Twitch channel. A record for the French streaming world.
