The wait will have been shorter than expected. Although it was quite expected at the Twitter facilities around July 23, Linda Yaccarino, newly appointed general manager of the social network, will finally get down to business this Monday, June 5. At least that’s what the specialized site La Información believes.
On May 11, Elon Musk made good on his promise to vacate the CEO position of Twitter. On the social network, he announced that he had found a successor to replace him without naming him. The next day, he revealed the name of Linda Yaccarino, who would take his place about six weeks later.
Turn around advertising revenue
This term would allow the new CEO to transition her responsibilities as head of publicity for the NBCUniversal group. But this duration would have been reduced according to a source close to the file contacted by La Información. On Sunday, the specialized site assured that Linda Yaccarino would assume the position “as of Monday”, that is, this June 5.
The announcement comes as the new head of Twitter announced the arrival of Joe Benarroch at the company. With a background in Facebook, he was until then vice president of communications in the “ad sales” division of NBCUniversal.
Linda Yaccarino and Joe Benarroch have already worked together in the group, which has many television channels and film production studios.
If the role of Joe Benarroch on Twitter has not been given, the objective of the two signings remains the same: to give companies the desire to communicate on the social network. Since its acquisition by Elon Musk, the platform has seen its advertising revenue drop dramatically.
