Assassin’s Creed also comes to mobile devices and virtual reality

During its Ubisoft Forward conference, the French publisher presented a new version of its successful franchise, Assassin’s Creed. You will be able to embody an Assassin in virtual reality.

I’m not sure if you can scale walls or launch yourself from the top of a tower to land in a haystack. That would not be a very reasonable helmet on the head. But you will soon be able to embody one of the emblematic heroes of the Assassin’s Creed saga.

During its Ubisoft Forward on Monday, the French publisher did not focus all its efforts on the next Assassin’s Creed Mirage scheduled for October 12. It also featured the first real game. assassin’s Creed in virtual reality. It will be available this summer on the Meta Quest headset and players will be able to follow in the footsteps (and hands) of three iconic characters: Ezio Auditore (AC II, AC Brotherhood and AC Revelations), Cassandra (AC Odyssey) and Connor Kenway (AC III).

At last he embodies a Murderer

Obviously playable in first person, AC Nexus VR puts the player in the shoes of one of three Assassins who must prevent Abstergo from recovering precious artifacts through time. Ezio, Kassandra and Connor will therefore be embodied in their time, from ancient Greece to the Italian Renaissance through colonial America. And Ubisoft has put all the assets of its saga into the game: parkour, climbing, infiltration and aerial assassinations, with endless weapons available and real emotes to find.

It will be necessary to be as tactical as in the game to inspect the open map (we are not talking about a world) that is offered to us, to know where to go to progress and interact with civilians to rally them to your cause. Teleportation is maintained for progress.

The French publisher explains that it has also put all the elements to also avoid the sensation of vertigo inherent in Assassin’s Creed and that can cause discomfort in virtual reality, or even to limit the field of vision to combat dizziness.

A beta this summer for the mobile version

It is already known, Assassin’s Creed Codename Jade showed off the game during the Ubisoft Forward. The mobile game designed in collaboration with Level Infinite takes place this time in ancient China of the 3rd century BC. Designed primarily for smartphones, Codename Jade hardly compromises the fundamentals of the franchise and the game is quite graphically successful.

With the intention of reaching another audience, this mobile AC also plays with the codes of his time, and of Fortnite in a way. It will be possible to customize the appearance of the Assassin for him before launching him to attack the looters of the desert who want to undermine the Qin dynasty that managed to unify China and build the Great Wall.

And to test the game, a beta phase will be launched this summer and pre-registration is open.
