Artificial intelligence recovers Lennon’s voice to create ‘last recording’ of The Beatles

Paul McCartney revealed Tuesday that artificial intelligence helped recover the voice of John Lennon to create the “last recording of the Beatles”, which will be released this year.

“It was a demonstration that John [Lennon] we had, and in which we work. We just finished it.” McCartney advanced in an interview with the BBCadding that the song will be released later this year.

Artificial intelligence made it possible to “extract” the voice of John Lennon from a cassette and “make it clearer.” Afterwards, “the mix was done as normal.”

“We had John’s voice and a piano that could be separated with artificial intelligence. They tell the machine: ‘This is the voice. This is a guitar. Remove the guitar,'” explained the Beatles singer, musician and songwriter. .

In this interview, Paul McCartney also confessed that artificial intelligence “is scary, but it’s exciting.” “It’s the future, we’ll just have to see where it takes us,” he added.

McCartney has not revealed the name of the band’s ending theme, but according to the BBC it is likely a Lennon composition called “Now And Then” from 1978.

This song had already been considered for a “band reunion” in 1995, but was never released.

Paul McCartney received the recording in 1994 from John Lennon’s widow, Yoko Ono. The song was one of several that appeared on a cassette called “For Paul” that Lennon had made shortly before Lennon’s death in 1980.
