He won’t be able to come to work in a Tesla since he doesn’t have the license, but Kairan Quazi will still make a notable comeback at Elon Musk’s American company. At just 14 years old, the future graduate of the Santa Clara University School will effectively join the teams of the SpaceX company, and more specifically of the Starlink subsidiary, and this starting next July.
In fact, the teenager was offered a position as a software engineer at the company specializing in the Internet satellite network, after a job interview in April shared on Instagram.
“The coolest company on the planet”
A few days ago, Kairan Quazi shared the good news on his social networks, excited to join “one of the few companies that has not used its age as an arbitrary and outdated indicator of its maturity and capacity.”
In addition to this position at a very young age, Kairan Quazi will also become the youngest graduate of Santa Clara University School in its 172-year history. Young computer prodigy, the teenager will not be in his first attempt at a technology company since he was able to do his internship at Intel at only 10 years old.
Mentality change
The 14-year-old is hoping to get his engineering degree back so he can move with his mother to Redmond, Washington, where Starlink’s research teams are based.
At the moment, Kairan Quazi is not making a career plan but above all he wants to allow the democratization of hiring among the youngest: “I think that one of the things that I really want to do in telling my story is, hopefully, leaders in influential sectors. positions challenge their prejudices and misconceptions,” he told the Los Angeles Times. “I hope I can open the door to more people like me.”
