Russia claimed to have neutralized nine drones on Thursday in the Crimean peninsula, annexed by the Russian government, according to the local governor appointed by Moscow, Sergei Aksionov.
“During dawn and morning, nine drones [veículos aéreos não tripulados] they were detected over the territory,” Aksionov said on the Telegram platform, adding that no victims had been registered.
“Six planes were shot down by anti-aircraft forces,” while another three “were disabled” before landing, it added.
According to Aksionov, one of the drones exploded in the town of Dukuchaevo, in the center of the peninsula, breaking the windows of several houses.
Drone attacks against Russian territory and the Crimean peninsula, annexed in 2014, have increased in recent weeks after kyiv announced a counteroffensive.
