68 migrants rescued from the Greek island of Leros

68 migrants were rescued this Monday off the Greek island of Leros, next to Turkey.

The Europa Press news agency assures that the migrants asked for help through an emergency telephone number and ended up being rescued by a boat that was nearby.

All the rescued people are well, but they will be preventively transferred to the Leros hospital.

This rescue comes less than a week after a fishing boat carrying hundreds of migrants, including 100 children, sank. At least 300 people from Pakistan were killed when the overcrowded ship sank off Greece, according to the latest toll from Pakistani authorities.
