A student, whose age has not yet been disclosed, was murdered Monday morning at Colégio Estadual Professora Helena Kolody, in Cambé, a town in the state of Paraná, in southern Brazil. The 21-year-old killer, a former student of the establishment, injured another 16-year-old student and has since been arrested by police.
The former student entered the school office shortly after 9 a.m. (1 p.m. in Portugal) to ask for documents and fired shortly after. Called a little later, the police arrested him. The motive for the crime is still unknown.
In addition to the police, there are police teams, firefighters and the city’s medical service, which is closed to the public.
The governor of Paraná, Ratinho Junior, has already declared three days of official mourning.
In the past year alone, six cases of attacks on schools were recorded in Brazil.
