At least two people died and more than 30 were injured this Wednesday when a train derailed at the Msaken station, located in the province of Susa, in the northeast of Tunisia, local media reported.
Sources quoted by Tunisian radio Mosaique FM indicated that the dead were the train driver and one of the passengers.
Another 32 people were taken to area hospitals due to injuries sustained in the accident.
The director of the regional health service, Mohamed Ruis, said that most of the injured have already been discharged, but he did not give further details about the state of health of those who remain hospitalized.
The Tunisian National Railway Society has not yet ruled on the accident.
