Two drones were shot down near a military base in the Moscow region on Wednesday, causing no casualties or damage, local governor Andrei Vorobyov said.
“Two drones crashed today at 5:30 and 5:50 (4:30 and 4:50 Paris time) as they approached the warehouses of a military base” located in the town of Kalininets, in the district of Naro- Fominsk, about fifty kilometers southwest of Moscow, Andrei Vorobyov said on Telegram. The plane was shot down by Russian “soldiers,” he said.
“The rubble has been discovered, there is no damage and no casualties,” the Moscow region governor said, calling on residents to “remain calm.”
On-site investigation underway
Russian special services are investigating the scene, according to the same source. In early May, two drones were shot down over the Kremlin, the seat of Russian power, in an attack blamed on Ukraine. In recent months, drones have also attacked military bases or energy infrastructure in Russia.
