Eurozone inflation rate reaches 10% in September

The annual inflation rate in the euro zone reached 10.0% in September, compared to 9.1% in August, according to a flash estimate published this Friday by Eurostat.

The energy sector presents the highest annual inflation rate in September: 40.8% compared to 38.6% in August.

The flash estimate published today by the official statistics office of the European Union reveals that the annual inflation rate, measured by the Harmonized Index of Consumer Prices, continues to increase and reaches a new double-digit maximum in the monetary space in September. , compared to 9.1% in August and 3.4% in September 2021.

Analyzing the main components of inflation, after energy, food, alcohol and tobacco are the ones that weigh the most (11.8%, compared to 10.6% in August), non-energy industrial goods (5, 6%, compared to 5.1% in August) and services (4.3%, compared to 3.8% in August)

The inflation rate in the eurozone has accelerated since June 2021, mainly due to rising energy prices, reaching record levels since November.
