At dusk Prigozhin suspended the rebellion movements in Russia against the military command, less than 24 hours after having occupied Rostov, a strategic city for the war in Ukraine, located in the southwest of the country.
Russian President Vladimir Putin called the group’s action a rebellion, saying it was a “mortal threat” to the Russian state and treason, by guaranteeing he would not allow a “civil war” to break out and that those responsible would pay. for her.
At the end of the day in which the advance of the Wagner group forces some 200 kilometers from Moscow was announced, Prigozhin announced that he had negotiated an agreement with the Kremlin, mediated by the President of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko.
Shortly after, the spokesman for the Russian Presidency, Dmitri Peskov, confirmed the agreement, under which Prigozhin will leave for Belarus, the criminal case against him will be dropped, and his fighters will not be prosecuted by Russian justice, taking into account what has been done. the Ukrainian front.
