Find Maddie. The material found in the Arade dam leads to a “dead end”

The search operation at the Arade dam was useless. The material collected in May, during the three days of investigations related to the disappearance of Madeleine McCann, did not reveal anything new.

Investigators have reached a “dead end” and are “very disappointed,” the British newspaper The Sun revealed this Sunday, citing sources close to the police.

“Unfortunately it seems that the records in the dam are not going to give us answers or new clues,” this source told the newspaper. “It would be too strong to say it was a waste of time, but the police are naturally very disappointed. They were hoping to find new leads that they could follow up on.”

“None of the items turned out to be useful,” despite the fact that the police resorted to the most advanced forensic technology. “It seems we’ve hit a dead end,” she adds.

Despite this, the same source guarantees that the authorities will continue the investigation to try to unravel the disappearance of Maddie in the Algarve, in 2007.

On the last day of the raids at the Arade dam, on May 25, the Judicial Police revealed that the operation resulted in the “collection of some material” that would be “delivered to the German authorities” to be subject to “expertise.”

The raids were carried out under the coordination of the PJ and involved elements of the German and British authorities. A source close to the investigation told Reuters the operation was prompted by the discovery of photographs of the dam in a hideout of suspect Christian Bruckner, a German national arrested for rape who was living in the Algarve when Madeleine McCann disappeared.

The Arade dam is located about 50 kilometers from where the British girl, who was three years old at the time, disappeared while on vacation with her parents and siblings in Praia da Luz.
