43 migrants rescued east of the Spanish island of Lanzarote

Maritime Rescue has rescued this Monday morning 43 people who were in a pneumatic boat detected east of Lanzarote, having then moved to the capital of that Spanish island.

The boat, which was carrying 43 men of sub-Saharan origin, was sighted by the merchant Ikaria Angel some 102 kilometers east of Lanzarote.

Maritime Rescue went to meet the boat and rescued its occupants, who were transferred to Arrecife, the capital of Lanzarote.

Upon arrival on land, the 43 people were assisted by professionals from the Canary Islands Emergency Service, all of them in good health.
