At least seven people died on Sunday due to flooding caused by monsoon rains in northern India, while an intense heat wave has already caused more than 100 deaths in the country, the international press reported Monday.
According to the Europa Press news agency, the deaths were confirmed in the states of Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Uttar Pradesh, where there was also extensive property damage from floods and landslides, The Times of India reports.
The floods left three dead, swept away dozens of vehicles and cut more than a hundred roads in Himachal Pradesh, where two people died, the occupants of a vehicle that fell into the Chamera dam.
Two other people were killed in Uttarakhand, including the driver of a vehicle that was hit by rocks on a road near the town of Kedarnath.
Two teenagers have died in the western state of Uttar Pradesh after the roof of their home collapsed in Nasipur.
