West as designated enemy. In a speech in the Kremin on Friday, Vladimir Putin broadly attacked the West and its “values”, presented as a scarecrow, to justify Russia’s “special operation” and the recent partial mobilization of the population.
“The West divides peoples and acts only in its own interest, it thinks it can control the world,” he complained in particular, in front of an assembly of Russian political and religious leaders.
Vladimir Putin recorded in his speech the annexation of four Ukrainian regions to Russia after the referendums played in advance according to many specialists.
Russia as a mere “colony”
The Russian head of state especially accused the West of wanting to make Russia a mere “colony” at his service and of wanting to “plunder the whole world.”
“They don’t want to see us free,” he condemned.
Assuring that the West wants to lead the dance in Europe and take economic power, he lamented that “the prosperity of (the) (Russian) society is a threat to (these countries).” “What they have always dreamed of is to break our state, she assured.
Fighting “Russophobia” for a “Free Russia”
While the conflict is slipping and a partial military mobilization was recently decreed by Vladimir Putin, the president has tried to remobilize a population increasingly won over by concern about the evolution of the conflict.
“We are fighting for a free Russia, for our future generations,” he said.
Denouncing, once again, a “Russophobia” that would have “spread in the world” because of the West, he called for defending “orthodox values” and “turning the page on Western hegemony.”
The absence of “family moral standards” in the West
Vladimir Putin, by contrast, widely denigrated the “dollar dictatorship and neotechnology” and what he called “Western values,” examining a wide range of social issues.
“They reject the moral norms of the family,” he lamented, noting in particular the recognition of same-sex couples or the study of gender theories.
“Do we want this for ourselves and for our children? For us this is unacceptable,” he worried.
“Russia will always be Russia. We will continue to defend our values,” he said.
