Moscow says it bombed military and mercenary bases in Lviv

Russia announced this Thursday that it has carried out “concentrated bombing” on “places of temporary deployment” of Ukrainian soldiers and “foreign mercenaries” in Lviv.

The Ministry of Defense of Russia indicated that the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation carried out a “concentrated bombardment with long-range and high-precision weapons fired from the sea on Wednesday evening on places of temporary deployment of personnel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and of foreign mercenaries” .

The ministry added that the targets attacked included “depots for Western-made armored vehicles”, underlining that “all designated targets were hit”.

Russian authorities declined to comment on Kiev’s claims that civilians were killed in the attack, which left more than 35 people injured, according to the State Emergency Service.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky promised Moscow “an energetic response” to this attack.

The Russian Defense Ministry pointed out that about 165 Ukrainian soldiers have been killed in fighting in recent hours in Donetsk province, in addition to another 130 Ukrainian soldiers killed in the clashes in Kherson province.
