Activists from the Última Generación group blocked the runways of the airports in Hamburg and Dusseldorf, Germany, on Thursday to protest the lack of measures to tackle climate change.
The Hamburg airport, in northern Germany, confirmed, through its account on the social network Twitter, that the departure of the planes had to be interrupted.
Last Generation, also via Twitter, said that it had blocked the airports of Hamburg and Dusseldorf, in the west of the country, on Thursday morning.
“We protest the government’s lack of planning and enforcement of the climate crisis law,” the group said.

In November, these activists blocked the Berlin airport for two hours.
The group, whose most common actions are blocking streets, calls for better measures to protect the climate, a speed limit of 100 kilometers per hour on highways and a nine-euro ticket for all trains in Germany.
