UNITA’s concerns include actions that attack the democratic state and the rule of law, persecution of political opponents, disrespect for the will of voters, violation of human rights, widespread corruption, hijacking of public media, instrumentalization of the judiciary and freezing of bills. banks of the opposition parties.
UNITA also accuses the President of the Republic, João Lourenço, of disrespecting the constitution and the law.
“The Standing Committee of the Political Commission of UNITA draws the attention of national and international public opinion to the consequences of the climate of violence, instability and insecurity that the regime has installed in society and citizens, as a favorable environment for the simulation of attempts and masks the failure of its governance,” the statement read
UNITA also reiterates that it is available for dialogue with all living forces of society and has guided its parliamentary group in taking legislative initiatives in defense of the democratic state and the rule of law.
