Ukraine’s defense ministry said on Monday that the counteroffensive “remains active in the south and east” and that Kiev had recaptured another 10.9 kilometers in the southern part of the front in the past week.
“The liberated areas have increased by another 10.9 kilometers in one week,” Ukraine’s deputy defense minister Hanna Maliar wrote.on the social networks.
Hanna Maliar added that Ukrainian forces in the south have managed to pull back the Russian occupiers by 9.25 kilometers since the start of the counter-offensive operation.
The deputy defense minister also said military operations from Kiev “continue to the occupied cities” of Melitopol and Berdiansk, in the south of the country, while fighting continues in Donetsk and Zaporijia provinces.
Daily information about the counter-offensive is not independently verified.
In early June, Ukraine launched a military counter-offensive with attacks in the city of Bakhmut and in the southern zone of the battle front.
