Russia attacked Odessa with cruise missiles on Tuesday, causing damage to the city’s port infrastructure, a Ukrainian official said.
“Odessa was attacked with six Kalibr missiles coming from the Black Sea,” said the representative of the Ukrainian military administration in the region, Sergei Bratchuk, explaining that all the missiles were shot down by Ukrainian anti-aircraft defenses.
Brachuk noted that “debris from downed missiles and explosions” from the interceptions “caused damage to port infrastructure objects and several houses” in Odessa, one of three Ukrainian ports included in the grain deal that Moscow suspended on Monday. .
A man was injured in one of those houses, he added.
Russia has suspended the agreement on the export of grain through the Black Sea from Ukrainian ports, arguing that the commitments made in relation to the Russian side have not been fulfilled.
