A Ukrainian drone strike on Crimea, the Ukrainian peninsula annexed by Russia in 2014, killed a teenage girl Wednesday night, according to the Moscow-mandated governor.
“As a result of an attack by an enemy drone, four administrative buildings were damaged (…) in the northwest of Crimea,” said Sergey Axyonov on the Telegram messaging platform.
“Unfortunately, [o ataque] It was not without casualties – a teenage girl died,” he added.
The governor assured that “all necessary support will be provided to the family”, without giving more information about the attack or specifying where it took place.

The attack, denounced by Russian authorities, comes a day after a fire broke out at the military camp in Crimea, forcing authorities to evacuate thousands of civilians.
Authorities have not specified the cause of the fire, but some average Russians reported that explosions were heard in the area and images showed black columns of smoke in the air.
Earlier this week, Ukraine used waterborne drones to attack the Kerch Bridge, a key military supply artery from mainland Russia to Crimea.
Russian President Vladimir Putin vowed to retaliate for the attack, which killed two civilians.
