The Hungarian Prime Minister, Viktor Orbán, accused this Saturday the European Union (EU), which he describes as a “federalist empire”, of carrying out “population exchanges through migration”.
“The EU rejects the Christian heritage and organizes population exchanges through migration,” the ultra-conservative leader said at his party’s summer university in Baile Tusnad, Romania.
Orbán, who opposes the European asylum reform, which provides for mandatory but flexible solidarity in the reception of asylum seekers, referred to the theory of the great replacement, popularized by the extreme right and which alludes to a Europe uncharacterized by the massive arrival of migrants.
In his speech, the head of the Hungarian government also criticized “the LGBT+ offensive [Lésbicas, Gays, Bissexuais, Transgénero e outros] of the EU against family-friendly European nations”.
