Billionaire businessman and Twitter owner Elon Musk said Saturday he was considering changing the brand and logo of the social network, known for its tiny blue bird.
“Soon we will say goodbye to the Twitter brand and, little by little, to all the birds,” Elon Musk wrote, before suggesting that the new logo will be an “X”.
Musk posted a video of a Twitter user to his Twitter profile, showing Twitter’s current logo, a blue bird, replaced by a blinking X.

“If a good enough X logo is released tonight, we’ll release it worldwide tomorrow,” he added.
After buying Twitter in October 2022 for $44 billion, Elon Musk changed the company’s name to “X Corp” in April 2023 and regularly talks about turning the social network into a multifaceted app with financial services, similar to WeChat in China.
Responding on Twitter to a question from a user who asked if Twitter would be accessible from the x.com address, Elon Musk replied: “Of course.”
X.com was the name and website of the bank online founded by the entrepreneur who later became the online payment service PayPal.
If the name change goes through, this change would come at a difficult time for Twitter, in which Elon Musk fired about half of the team and whose advertising revenue fell by half.
