Researchers Alain Aspect, John F. Clauser and Anton Zeilinger received the Nobel Prize in Physics on Tuesday for their discoveries in the area of quantum mechanics, the Swedish academy announced.
Nobel Prize announcements continue on Wednesday, with chemistry and literature on Thursday. The 2022 Nobel Peace Prize will be announced on Friday and the Economics prize on Monday, October 10.
The Nobel Prizes were born from the will of the Swedish scientist and industrialist Alfred Nobel (1833-1896) to bequeath a large part of his fortune to people who work for “a better world”. The international prestige of the Nobel prizes is largely due to the amounts awarded, which currently reach ten million Swedish crowns (more than 953 thousand euros).
