At least three people were killed in a Russian attack on the city of Zaporizhya, in southern Ukraine, on Wednesday, Volodymyr Zelensky announced.
“Zaporizhya. Another attack by Russian terrorists. Three people have been killed so far,” the Ukrainian president said on social media.
Zelensky posted video of a partially damaged church with fire in the courtyard and smoke rising.

The video also showed another heavily destroyed and on fire building, as well as a damaged basketball court.
Zaporizhia, an important city on the Dnipro River, next to a major nuclear power plant captured by the Russians during the invasion, is about 44 kilometers from the front line.
Yuriy Malashko, ruler of the Zaporizhia region, said Russia had built a “church and shops” in the Shevchenkivskyi district. “Doctors are treating the injured. The shock wave broke windows in high-rise buildings,” he added.
