The Ukrainian Armed Forces managed to repel strong Russian artillery attacks on several fronts, the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces said in a statement Saturday, noting that artillery and air strikes were launched on virtually all fronts.
By land, the Russians have tried to advance in Kupiansk, Bakhmut, Avdiivka and Marinka, but according to the Ukrainian General Staff note, they are being held back by Ukrainian defenses.
In addition, there were attacks in the Sumi region, close to the border, where nine attacks took place during the day on Friday, according to information from the local Ukrainian regional government published on the Telegram social network.
On the other hand, the Russian defense ministry claimed to have thwarted a Ukrainian attack using 20 ‘drones’ against targets in the Crimean peninsula in the early hours of today.
“The attempted terrorist attack by the Kiev regime with 20 ‘drones’ against targets on the territory of the Crimean peninsula has been thwarted,” the Russian defense ministry told Telegram.
Fourteen Ukrainian “drones” were destroyed by air defense systems and six others by electronic warfare, he added.
The attack caused no casualties or damage, the Russian Defense Ministry assured.
