The Catania airport, on the Italian island of Sicily, reopened this Tuesday after having temporarily suspended activity on Monday due to an eruption of the Etna volcano, reports the Europa Press agency.
According to the news agency, which quotes the company that manages the airport, the activity resumed at 6:00 a.m.
However, passengers are advised to check the flight status with the airlines.
On Sunday night, Mount Etna erupted again, spewing lava until 3:20 a.m. Monday, creating an ash cloud and forcing a temporary halt to operations at Catania airport.
