The Iranian authorities presented a new drone on Tuesday, indicating that it has a range of 2,000 kilometers, can remain in the air for 24 hours and carry various types of weapons.
the new drone [aparelho aéreo não tripulado] was unveiled during the Defense Industry Day ceremony, in the presence of Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi, the Iranian Revolutionary Guard-linked Fars news agency reported.
The Mohajer-10 – which means Migrant – has a range of 2,000 kilometers, can fly at a maximum speed of 210 kilometers per hour, stay in the air for 24 hours and carry up to 300 kilograms of cargo, according to Iranian authorities.
In addition, it has “electronic warfare” and “intelligence” systems, as well as the capacity to transport all kinds of ammunition and bombs,” the Fars agency said.
The presentation of the new weapon was also attended by the Defense Minister, Brigadier General Mohamad Reza Qarai Ashtiani, and other senior officials of the country’s Armed Forces.
“I hope that the effort of all of us will enhance the greatness, honor and power of the country,” Raisi was quoted as saying by Iran’s Tasnim news agency.
A new guided bomb, “Arman 1”, was also unveiled at the ceremony, about which no further details were given.
Iran has a developed kamikaze drone manufacturing industry. Last April, the Me’raj-532 drone was successfully tested, with a range of 450 kilometers, at an altitude of 12,000 feet and flying for three hours.
Western countries have denounced that Iran sold Shahed-136/131 kamikaze drones to Russia to be used in the war in Ukraine, something Tehran denies.
In response to the sale of these drones, the European Union (EU), the United States, and the United Kingdom sanctioned individuals and companies linked to the production of these Iranian unmanned aerial devices.
