A plane with ten people on board, among whom was allegedly the leader of the Wagner Group, crashed on Wednesday in Russia.
“An investigation has been launched into the accident of the Embraer plane that occurred tonight in the Tver region. According to the passenger list, the name and surname of Yevgeny Prigozhin were included in this list,” reports the Federal Agency for Russian Air Transport (Rosaviatsiya), quoted by the official Russian news agency TASS.
The leader of the Wagner Group carried out a rebellion against Vladimir Putin and the Kremlin. The rebellion, which took place on June 23 and 24, shook the Russian authorities in the midst of the conflict in Ukraine.
For several hours, Wagner’s fighters occupied a Russian army headquarters in Rostov (southwest) and traveled several hundred kilometers towards Moscow.
The mutiny ended on the night of June 24, with an agreement for Prigozhin to leave for Belarus.
