France believes there are “reasonable doubts” about the cause of the plane crash that likely killed Yevgeny Prigozhin, the head of the Russian paramilitary group Wagner.
“We still do not know the circumstances of this accident. We may have reasonable doubts,” government spokesman Olivier Veran told France 2 television station on Thursday.
When asked about US President Joe Biden’s claim that “not much is happening in Russia that doesn’t involve Putin,” Veran agreed that “that’s generally a verifiable truth.”
Prigozhin was “the man who did Putin’s dirty work. What he did is inextricably linked to Putin’s policy, which, as head of Wagner, gave him responsibility for committing abuses,” Veran said.

“Prigozhin left graveyards and terrible disorder in much of the world,” as in Africa or Ukraine, through the exploits of his mercenaries in wars and conflicts, the spokesman for the French government considered.
Recall that the US president was not surprised by the crash of Prigozhin’s plane.
“I don’t know what happened, but it doesn’t surprise me,” said US President Joe Biden.
Yevgeni Prigozhin was reported to be on the passenger list of a plane belonging to the Wagner group that crashed on Wednesday during a flight between Moscow and St Petersburg, leading to the deaths of all ten people on board, according to Russian authorities.
