The number of employed residents in Germany increased by 333,000 in July, 0.7% year-on-year, to around 45.7 million, according to provisional data published this Thursday by the Federal Statistical Office (Destatis).
In May and June, the annual rate also increased by 0.7%, respectively, and in June the long-term upward trend in the labor market grew steadily.
Compared to the previous month and without seasonal effects, the number of employees increased slightly by 15,000.
In June, the number of employees was virtually unchanged from the previous month, with just 1,000 more workers.
Without seasonally adjusting, the number of employed persons decreased by 23,000 people in July, 0.1% less than in the same month last year, when the fall was 51,000 employed persons.
