Linda Evangelista underwent a double mastectomy after being diagnosed with breast cancer

Canadian supermodel Linda Evangelista, 58, revealed to Wall Street Journal who had cancer twice and had a double mastectomy after her first breast cancer diagnosis in 2018.

According to her, the cancer was discovered during an annual mammogram. “Margins weren’t good and due to other health factors, without hesitation, wanting to put everything behind me and not have to deal with this, I opted for a double mastectomy. I thought it was good and it would prepare me for life. Breast cancer wouldn’t kill me”he claimed.

However, four years after surgery, in July 2022, the former model was diagnosed with breast cancer after undergoing chemotherapy and radiotherapy.

“I told the doctor to dig a hole in my chest. ‘I don’t want it to look pretty. I want you to dig it. I want to see a hole in my chest when you’re done. You get it. I’m not going to die from this'”he remembered.

Linda Evangelista, speaking on the sidelines of the launch of the new Apple TV+ documentary series The Super Models, said her prognosis is now “good, but not great.”

“I know I’m with one foot in the grave, but I’m all in party mode”said the model, who wanted to keep her health problem a secret for a while. “Only a small group of people knew. And I’m just not one of those people who has to share everything. I thought to myself, ‘One day I’ll share this, but while I’m going through this, no.’ door of my house, as they always do when something happens'”he explained.

Evangelista revealed in 2021 that she felt “disfigured” after experiencing a rare consequence of CoolSculpting, a cosmetic fat-freezing procedure, stating that she spent six years “in hiding”. Because of this complication, he sued the responsible company, claiming serious injury for $50 million.
