A former military man accused of terrorism and who had escaped from a London prison where he was awaiting trial was captured this Saturday, the Police revealed.
Daniel Abed Khalife was on the run for four days until an intensive search caught him in Chiswick, west London.
Khalife escaped from Wandsworth prison on Wednesday under a food delivery truck. The leak sparked a wave of criticism, with political opponents accusing the ruling conservative party of incompetence.
Khalife, 21, is accused of planting fake bombs at a military base and violating Britain’s Official Secrets Act by collecting information “that could be useful to an enemy.”
He was discharged from the British Army after his arrest earlier this year and denied the allegations. His trial is scheduled for November.
London’s anti-terrorist police offered a reward of 20,000 pounds (about 23,000 euros) for information leading to his arrest.
