A United Airlines plane from Newark, USA, on its way to Rome, Italy, fell more than 8,000 meters in just ten minutes on Wednesday after being forced to return to the airport of Newark.
United Airlines Flight 510 was carrying 270 passengers and 14 crew members. The plane was already at an altitude of 37,000 feet and almost reaching cruising altitude, when the pilots decided to descend due to a cabin pressure problem.
Before landing without any problems at Newark Airport, the plane circled twice over Canada, at a stable altitude of about 10,000 feet.
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), the agency responsible for regulating flights in the United States, also confirmed that the plane had a “pressurization problem” that caused it to change course. The passengers took another flight to Italy.
