Ukrainian air defenses shot down 17 cruise missiles launched by Russia on Sunday night, the Kiev Air Force reported on the Telegram messaging platform on Monday.
“We recorded the launch of 17 cruise missiles (…). All of them (…) were destroyed by Air Force personnel and means,” he stated.
The interceptions took place in Dnipropetrovsk (southeast), Poltava (center) and Khmelnitsky (west), the same source added.
The Russian Defense Ministry reported having shot down three drones on the annexed Crimea peninsula on Sunday afternoon, in addition to having neutralized four on Saturday night.
Another drone was shot down in the Belgorod region on the border with Ukraine, according to a Russian military statement.
Also on Sunday, Ukrainian forces claimed the recapture of Klishchiivka, a tactically relevant location south of Bakhmut.
