Ukrainian authorities announced this Tuesday that at least six civilian volunteers died in Kupiansk, in the Kharkiv region, in eastern Ukraine, as a result of Russian bombing, while evacuating residents from the area.
“So far, six civilians have been killed in Kupyansk. Two women and four men. This is the number of victims we have been able to count so far,” Sergey Bolvinov, head of the state police investigation department in Kharkiv, said in a statement. .
The death toll, however, could rise as bodies are searched in destroyed cars and the nearby river, Bolvinov said.
The attack occurred at 1:00 p.m. local time (11:00 a.m. Lisbon time).
