Two people were killed in Kherson, southern Ukraine, following a series of attacks that took place in six Ukrainian cities on Thursday, according to official sources.
In addition to the two deaths in Kherson, five people were injured, one seriously, after an attack on a residential building, regional governor Oleksandre Prokoudine said.
“The Russian army has shelled the residential areas of Kherson (…) At this stage we are aware of two dead civilians,” Prokudine wrote on the messaging platform Telegram.
In Kiev, seven people were injured, including a 9-year-old girl, the Ukrainian capital’s mayor Vitalii Klitschko said, noting that residential and commercial buildings were damaged.
At least six attacks hit Kharkiv and damaged civilian infrastructure, regional governor Oleh Syniehubov said. The mayor of this city in northeastern Ukraine added that two people had been taken to hospitals.
In Cherkasy, in the center of the country, seven people were injured and one person was rescued from the rubble, Interior Minister Ihor Klymenko said.
In western Lviv, an industrial area was hit, damaging buildings and causing a fire, but there were no reports of casualties, Klymenko added.
Attacks also took place in the city of Rivne, in the region of the same name in northwestern Ukraine, regional governor Vitalii Koval said, without giving further details.
