According to Ukrainian authorities, the fatalities from the Kherson attacks include a woman from the city of Berislav and a man who died in Lvowe, with an unspecified number of injuries reported.
According to Europa Press, the Ukrainian army regained control in an area northwest of the Dnieper River, which had been under Russian control since November, and attacked the Russian city of Kursk with a drone, while Russia attacked the Odessa region.
The Russian military offensive on Ukrainian territory, launched on February 24 last year, plunged Europe into what is considered the worst security crisis since World War II (1939-1945).
Ukraine’s Western allies have supplied weapons to Kiev and approved successive sanctions packages against Russian interests to try to reduce Moscow’s ability to finance the war effort.
