A very efficient D system. On the Ukrainian front, soldiers of the kyiv army began to receive American Abrams tanks, according to Volodymyr Zelensky. But other units are less equipped and must continue to depend on homemade solutions, such as 4x4s transformed into rocket launchers, which BFMTV was able to observe in action.
That morning, the unit followed by our teams, that of Commander Oleksandr, plans to fire seven projectiles at night. To do this, they have homemade tube installations mounted on the back of pick-up type vehicles, which have an open space in the back. It takes them about twenty minutes to be ready to shoot.
“Many units want the same thing”
Once the order to fire is given, the rockets rise and split the sky. After less than a minute of flight, they reached their target, 19 kilometers away. The commander is satisfied.
“Many units want the same ones. The one with three tubes is the first one we have and, thank God, it still works well,” explains Oleksandr.
These machines are manufactured in a secret location that BFMTV was able to visit. It is a simple garage transformed into a war factory by Maksym, a 19-year-old student. “There, at this moment, we have three different vehicles like this,” the young man presents, “some have three tubes, others six.”
Hope to return to normal life
With his father Yuri, a farmer, they have already delivered 16 machines to the Ukrainian army in one year. “To be honest, at first a lot of people made fun of what we were doing,” says Maksym. “But after he managed to destroy a Russian position for the first time, everyone understood that it worked.”
These simple farmers turned weapons manufacturers hope to one day cultivate their fields again. On the condition, they say, that the West intensifies its military shipments to Ukraine.
