“The Ukrainian government is actively working with its US partners to ensure that the new decision on the US budget, which will be taken in the next 45 days, will include new funds to help Ukraine,” the State Department spokesperson announced from the Ukrainian Ministry, Oleg. Nikolenko.
The US Congress reached an agreement on a new 45-day budget on Saturday evening, just hours before the deadline, but left new aid to Ukraine out of the negotiations, contradicting Democratic President Joe Biden.
Now, US members of Congress must discuss in a separate bill the $24 billion in military and humanitarian aid to Ukraine that Biden wanted to include in the general budget.
Since February 2022, the US has made approximately 110 billion dollars (approximately 104 billion euros) available to Ukraine.

In a statement, Biden emphasized that “an unnecessary crisis that would have inflicted unnecessary pain on millions of American workers” was avoided.
Regarding aid to Ukraine, the president argued that “the overwhelming majority of Congress has been steadfast in its support” for the country.
Congress will debate another bill that would allocate $24 billion (22.7 billion euros) in military and humanitarian aid to Ukraine, which Biden wanted to see included in the budget.
