At least ten migrants died and 25 others were injured when the truck in which they were traveling illegally overturned in southern Mexico, near the border with Guatemala, according to a provisional report.
According to local authorities, there were at least “ten dead and 25 injured.”
A source from the Public Ministry, cited by Agence France Presse (AFP), stated that among the victims, all women, is a minor.
The accident occurred on the stretch that connects Pijijiapan with Tonalá, in the State of Chiapas, on the Pacific coast of Mexico, a route used by migrants from Central and South America seeking to reach the United States.
This is the second accident of the same type that has occurred in the same State in less than a week.
On Thursday, two migrants died and 27 were injured after the truck they were traveling in overturned.
