A camera installed on a speed camera captured an unusual image: literally a dog behind the wheel of a car on an avenue in the Slovak town of Šterusy, an episode that took place on September 29.
Due to the unusual nature of the incident and to raise awareness among drivers and the general population, local police publicized the incident on social media and the post went viral. It should be noted that the vehicle was speeding and was therefore spotted on radar.
The real driver has now been identified. This concerns a 31-year-old man, whose identity has not been revealed, but who has been fined. According to the driver, the dog jumped onto his lap while driving, but the security cameras did not capture the moment of the jump.
“Mr. Cão, you have exceeded the speed limit. Please, your driver’s license…”, could be read in a joking tone in a message on the police’s social networks, with the authorities taking the opportunity to warn motorists to be careful with dogs while driving.
