A seven-year-old child fell from the seventh floor of a building in the Piedade neighborhood, in Jaboatão dos Guararapes, in Pernambuco, Brazil, and survived. The accident happened early Tuesday morning when the child’s mother went to buy bread in a shop opposite the building where the family lived.
The girl was taken to hospital and suffered a broken collarbone and bleeding in the lungs and liver, according to her family. According to the fire brigade called to the scene, who initially assessed the child’s condition after the fall, she was conscious and complaining of pain. A note from the hospital stated that the health condition is stable.
To G1, the child’s father explained that the girl was alone in the apartment where she lives with her mother, and had cut part of the balcony’s protection, causing her to eventually fall. “The mother said she left the girl at home to sleep and went to buy bread for the condominium, where there is a bakery. Halfway through, someone in a group of condominium mothers posted on WhatsApp that a child had fallen from the 7th. floor,” said the father.
“It was a miracle from God. An angel caught her in the trap. She fell from the seventh floor and nothing serious happened. She is talking, lucid and waiting to have surgery for a lung hemorrhage and liver,” added the father added.
An investigation into this case was opened to clarify all the facts.
