At least one person was killed in a new attack that took place this afternoon in the center of Zaporizhia, the secretary of the city council of the city in southeastern Ukraine, Anatoly Kurtev, announced on Monday.
“We know of a victim, since 06:00” local time (04:00 in Lisbon), Kurtev said, in a message posted on the Telegram social network, quoted by the Ukrinform news agency.
According to the official, five people were injured in the attack, including a child, who was hit by glass shards.
Rescue work continues, he said.
The attack had been previously denounced by the head of the regional military administration, Oleksandr Starukh, but without confirming the number of victims.
“As a result of the missile attack in the center of Zaporizhia, a multi-storey residential building was again destroyed. There are victims,” he wrote.
An earlier attack on Sunday left at least 13 dead and 89 injured, including 11 children, while the death toll from last Thursday’s attack rose to 20.
