167 migrants rescued on the islands of Lanzarote, Fuerteventura and El Hierro

More than 160 Maghreb and sub-Saharan migrants were rescued this Sunday on the islands of Lanzarote, Fuerteventura and El Hierro, and two boats carrying 200 people were also located, according to the Spanish maritime relief institution.

According to the same source, cited by the Spanish news agency Efe, 42 men of Maghreb origin disembarked at the Arrecife dock, capital of Lanzarote, who say they came from Dakhla.

Another 69 people of sub-Saharan origin disembarked in Fuerteventura (57 men and 12 women), coming from Cape Bojador.

In El Hierro, a boat with 56 people on board (52 men and four women) was accompanied to the La Restinga dock.

The Spanish maritime relief institution also said that it is providing assistance to two other ships, where another 200 migrants are traveling.

Also on Saturday they arrived in Tenerife, Fuerteventura, El Hierro and Lanzarote, in six boats, with 337 people.
