The Arab League schedules an “urgent” meeting for this week

King Mohamed VI of Morocco, the country that holds the presidency of the Council of the Arab League, called this Sunday for an “urgent” meeting of this organization for this week, after the attack launched on Saturday by the Islamic group Hamas against Israel.

The monarch called a meeting of the Arab foreign ministers to “concert and coordinate, following the deterioration of the situation in Gaza and the unleashing of military actions against civilians, and find means to stop this serious escalation,” a statement reads. of the Moroccan Ministry. of Foreign Affairs.

The same source adds that “intense discussions” are currently being held to hold this meeting this week at the Arab League headquarters in Cairo.

The Israeli Army declared a state of war on Saturday, after a powerful combined attack by Hamas from Gaza, with the launching of rockets and the infiltration of Palestinian militiamen into Israeli territory.

At least 300 people have died in Israel since Hamas surprised the Jewish State with rockets and ground attacks, which responded with a strong air offensive that also left more than 300 dead in the Gaza Strip, according to medical reports released this Sunday.
