An expected reaction. During an emergency phone call made Monday morning after the violent attacks that hit Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky asked Emmanuel Macron and his counterpart Olaf Scholz for a “tough” response to Russia.
“We discussed strengthening our air defense, the need for a tough European and international reaction, as well as increased pressure on Russia,” the Ukrainian leader said on Twitter after urgent talks with his German and French counterparts.
