The Palestinian group Hamas on Wednesday denied “killing, beheading children and attacking civilians” during Saturday’s attack on Israel, in response to “trumped up accusations” by Israeli soldiers about massacres committed in a ‘kibbutz’ by Palestinian fighters.
“We strongly affirm the falsehood of the accusations created and propagated by some Western media that adopt the Zionist narrative, including the accusation of killing children, beheading and attacking civilians,” Hamas said in a statement. stated that its fighters only ‘attacked the military and security apparatus [israelita]which is a legitimate target.”
These statements come shortly after the Israeli army reported that Palestinian fighters had “murdered women, children, babies and the elderly, who were brutally slaughtered in the style of [grupo extremista] Islamic State (IS)” during the attack on Kibbutz Kfar Aza.
The Islamist group Hamas launched an unprecedented land, sea and air attack on Israel from the Gaza Strip on Saturday, the biggest escalation of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict in decades.
In addition to killing hundreds of people in Israel, Hamas has also kidnapped more than a hundred Israelis and foreigners it is holding hostage in the Gaza Strip.
The attack prompted Israel to declare war on the Palestinian extremist group and respond with bombing of the Gaza Strip.
