Her name is Ela and, at 44 years old, she is a Palestinian from East Jerusalem and has never been to the Gaza Strip. The only Palestinians from that area that she knows are the ones she met at the Arab hospital, where she works as a pharmacy technician.
“They are my friends because they came to Jerusalem to our hospital. At the hospital we found them and helped them because they had no food, no money, nothing. We have to help them. Now we can’t talk to them.” , he says TSF.
She became especially friends with a woman “who had two children and cancer.” And both children also had cancer. “They were hit and live near the sea. There is no communication,” she laments.
The total communications blackout has been going on for more than a week. The Palestinians in Jerusalem do not even want to imagine what this silence means, whether it could be definitive.
